Congratulations Ennis!

You’ve heard the story about the good news and the bad news.  The bad news was that Ennis broke his tibia in a biking accident, but that was followed by some good news:  Ennis made first chair in his middle school band! If you follow this blog you may have read about Ennis before in the earlier post, “Playing the Trumpet with Braces,” which described the successful transition he made last year.  He also had to make another transition; a return to regular playing after missing a lot of practice time over the summer due to a variety of summer camps and family vacations.  However, as his lessons resumed we saw a quick return to form as he had some very clear reference points for his embouchure, which aided his comeback.  I’m so glad his accident injuries were no more serious, and of course as his trumpet teacher, am glad his trumpet playing is not affected.  In fact, now that cross country is out of the picture this fall, he will have more time to practice (hint, hint).  Congratulations Ennis….the honor you have earned is another positive step you are taking with your music!
